The Golden Dawn was a legendary, innovative Texas rock band that recorded one of the classic psychedelic albums of all time…Power Plant. The band was notoriously recluse, and after disbanding in 1970, only the inner circle kept up with the music. George Kinney rejuvenated the band in 2003 for a series of concerts and a major tour of the great American Northwest. The Legend of The Dawn is a live CD from that tour and is currently available from George at the email address listed on “contacts” on this site. Two major CDs are also available from George, After the Fall and Texas Medicine. Texas Medicine was produced and recorded by Jon Ramsey, son of the original lead guitar player for the band, Tom Ramsey. Now George has formed a new band and is doing a few select gigs in Austin and Houston. Check out the entire George Kinney CD catalog. The new music represents the same unique, innovative songwriting ability and superb instrumentation that Kinney is known for all over the world.
